You're right, it is indeed a nice historical item, and it is a pity that it isn't produced anymore. All these plastic variants just can't touch it; to me, the only serious lead pointer currently available is the <a href="http://www.u5arch.com/u5blog/boubiroku/productdesign_2.html" rel="nofollow">"Tortoise" by the U5 Architects Unit</a> from Japan (but you have <a href="http://www.penciltalk.org/2008/03/tortoise-lead-pointer" rel="nofollow">written about that</a> already). You’re right, it is indeed a nice historical item, and it is a pity that it isn’t produced anymore.
