In der „Frankenschau“ des Bayerischen Fernsehens vom 5. Mai 2013 gab es einen Beitrag über die Erlanger Spitzerhersteller Möbius+Ruppert und KUM; unter „Europaweit spitze: Bleistiftanspitzer aus Erlangen“ kann man ihn noch anschauen.

Thanks for sharing, very informative! I’m wondering if the stylos pencil has a plastic instead of wood casing : sharpening (2:04) gives cracking noise and short fragments of shavings.
You’re welcome! The pencil with the stylus end was a WOPEX so you are quite right with your guess. However, I assume that the sharpener cap used in the demonstration was a prototype so the operation of the final product may be a little different. The short shavings could also be a result of the sharpener’s geometry; the WOPEX sharpener from STAEDTLER produces thicker and longer shavings (just compare the results of the Grenade with those of a STAEDTLER sharpener).
