STAEDTLER MARS LUMOCHROM

Angeregt durch Sola von pencils and other things und ihren Beitrag „Scary Point“: Ein kurzer Blick auf zwei Sets des Farbstifts STAEDTLER MARS LUMOCHROM.

STAEDTLER MARS LUMOCHROM

STAEDTLER MARS LUMOCHROM

  1. Gunther, thank you! They are very nice. It is also interesting to see that the sets lack colors considered standard nowadays, like violet (purple). Also there’s no black in the older set – maybe they didn’t consider it necessary?

And what would you say about the quality of these two sets? Is the older one noticeably better or is the lead formula pretty consistent? Or are they different in some way?

  3. You’re welcome, Sola! I am happy to hear that you like them too. Yes, the colours are different but this may be due to the fact that the Lumochrom was mainly targeted not at artists but at engineers and the like. I don’t know about an old black Lumochrom but I am sure it was one of the 24 colours which were available back then. However, there was a black one in the newer range; I have one. – There is one pencil missing from the newer set, and besides that I won’t rule out the possibility that one or the other has been replaced.

I haven’t compared these sets yet but have used some newer Lumochrom pencils which I have bought separately as well as the red and blue 2 mm leads, and all are simply amazing.

  5. Staedtler can really be proud of the Lumochrom leads! They were a supreme achievement. – Do you know Staedtler’s Mars Chroma colour pencils? Here is a photo of the lid.

  6. I am looking for the Staedtler Mars Lumochrom Violet leads 208-40 bar code 007817231685. Where can I purchase a box please.
